About Me
I am Rojal Bati, a Software Test Engineer and currently working as a Software QA Engineer at Plerion, an award-winning cyber security startup. I began my career in 2017 as an intern in software testing at a multinational company in Bangalore. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work for various companies ranging from startups to multinationals. Through my experiences, I have learned that testing is not just about creating and validating test cases, but rather it is a continuous process to improve the quality of software. Testing involves not only finding bugs, but also collaborating with team members to identify potential bugs before even writing a single line of code. Additionally, I believe in helping others, as I did not have proper mentorship in the early stages of my career and faced numerous challenges. However, I am grateful that I did not give up, and this experience has made me understand the importance of mentorship and guidance.

Frequently Asked Questions
Would you be able to effectively determine the quality of food if you had no knowledge about it? Of course not! Similarly, having coding experience can be beneficial when starting a career in quality assurance, but it is not a requirement. I began my journey in QA as a manual software test engineer and later realized the importance of test automation, so I taught myself Java and started learning Selenium. I have encountered many people who become hesitant about pursuing a career in QA when they hear that coding is involved. However, it is important to keep in mind that learning the core concepts of coding for test automation is not as difficult as it may seem. It is important to have a willingness to learn and improve the quality of products, and not to limit oneself to only being a manual test engineer. This approach can lead to more significant contributions to the company and higher salaries.
To improve your chances of success in the field of software testing, you can follow these steps:
- Focus on developing skills and understanding the software testing process and relevant terminology. Take thorough notes to help with this process.
- Create a comprehensive and up-to-date CV.
- Update your LinkedIn profile and make connections with others in the industry. Share your learnings and accomplishments to showcase your expertise.
- Research the skills and tools used by experienced software test engineers on LinkedIn.
- Increase your chances of receiving interview requests by applying for internships at a variety of companies, even if they are not currently hiring.
If you have a creative and user-focused mindset, good teamwork skills, and strong organizational abilities, you will excel in QA. However, even if you don’t naturally possess a lot of talent, you can still achieve success through hard work. Remember, hard work can overcome a lack of inherent talent.
